Thomas Gottschalk

Tom Gottschalk is of counsel at the law firm, Kirkland and Ellis LLP in Washington,  DC. Mr. Gottschalk focuses on general litigation counseling, trial and appellate practice with emphasis on complex litigation, class actions, and defense of government suits; crisis management; corporate compliance and governance. Mr. Gottschalk was a partner at Kirkland and Ellis from 1967-1994. In between his two stints with Kirkland and Ellis, Mr Gottshalk worked as the Executive Vice President for the Law & Policy and General Counsel for General Motors from 1994-2007.  Mr. Gottschalk was a guest lecturer at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College from 2004-2007, on Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program. Mr. Gottschalk is a board member for the National Center for State Courts, Institute for Legal Reform with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Transparency International, and American University, as well as a member of the Michigan, Illinois, and District of Columbia Bar Associations.
